Yes, after 16 years of being a psychologist in Miami I have moved offices and am now a psychologist in Kingscliff. I was unable to get an exemption to cross into QLD without having to quarantine.
As with any change there are good and bad aspects.
The bad: obviously leaving my friends behind at Miami Business Centre. Sheree and Connie and Vanessa made it such a great place to be. I will miss them terribly.
And…. more importantly …. the inconvenience to my clients. I am so sorry for those of you who can’t travel to Kingscliff. I tried so hard to get an exemption.
I wrote some rather outraged emails to the Premier of QLD and the Chief Health Officer about the impact this would have on people who were partway through therapy and for the people who had built a relationship with me over the last 16 years.
Not surprisingly I received a rather generic email basically saying too bad, suck it up.
So… hence the move.
The good: who doesn’t love Kingscliff! It’s got such a relaxed holiday vibe. My office is just across the road from the beach. And there are lots of nice cafes and restaurants downstairs too.
A lot of the people who have been to see me in Kingscliff have mentioned how nice the drive in is and how relaxed they feel coming in. A few people have gone for a walk on the beach after our session which they said was a great way to let what we did sift through.
I had someone last week say that there was no delay crossing the border even at peak hour so that’s no problem either.
I would have to conclude that the move has been mostly good.
If you haven’t seen it, my home page has all the links to what you need to do to cross the border. Check it out here.
So now instead of Psychologist Gold Coast I am Psychologist Kingscliff.
Nothing much has changed in how it looks – still all the same stuff from my Miami office so it’s not a massive change for you.
I hope to see you there.
If not I’m still available for phone, zoom and skype sessions.
