I'm a psychologist that likes to take a deeper approach to healing. I don’t believe everything is about examining your thoughts or increasing positive thinking (even though that can be helpful too). Sometimes emotions seem to be running the show and need to be cared for. Sometimes our hearts and souls need some attention too.
So I use a range of methods to help you heal, integrate and develop.
These include:
Traditional and Cutting Edge Psychology: Change behaviours and learn strategies to help overcome depression, anxiety, panic, low self-esteem, grief, bulimia & binge eating, plus lots of other conditions that prevent you from healing. Or, use positive psychology techniques to improve your general outlook e.g. develop gratitude, look for the silver lining etc.
Psychotherapy: Explore patterns that keep repeating in your life, how they developed, where they came from, and whether they still work for you. Integrate your conscious and unconscious so that you get to choose how (and who) you are rather than being reactive. This type of therapy also answers the big "who am I?" question and helps you heal and grow.

Mindfulness has its roots in Buddhism but it's not necessarily a spiritual practice. It’s a way of training yourself to be more present so you can enjoy each moment more. Practicing mindfulness can actually change your brain so that you feel more positive emotions more often. Pretty impressive, huh?
Voice Dialogue: Have you ever felt like there was more than one of you? That sometimes these you’s are in conflict with each other? That one part of you is wildly ambitious and another part wants to sell up and live on a hippy commune (actually that's me!). Or that one part wants to lose weight, sets rules about food and another rebels and eats chocolate til you burst. With Voice Dialogue you get to be these parts (this can be lots of fun). The bonus is that you then start to live your life from an ‘aware ego’ perspective which means you get to choose who’s running the show rather than being hijacked by these parts. This is a great way to get to know yourself.
Coaching: We can have a lot of fun with this. We can look at who you want to be and how to get there, we can explore who you are. We can set goals in any area of your life and work out how to get there. I have a positive psychology and depth coaching focus which is more about you becoming the best ‘you’ you can be.
